Research Focus Areas

Workforce Mobility

Identifying and addressing barriers to career advancement and economic opportunity within underserved communities. Our research examines discriminatory hiring practices, advancement limitations, and strategies for creating more inclusive workplaces.

Resource Accessibility

Investigating access to and awareness of important community resources, including education, healthcare, housing, and financial services. We work to bridge information gaps and connect community members with the support they need.

Systemic Recourse

Researching and developing pathways for recourse against classist and discriminatory actions within the workforce, healthcare system, and criminal justice system. We help communities understand their rights and navigate complex systems.

How We Work With Communities

Our approach to community engagement is collaborative and respectful. We recognize that community members are experts in their own experiences and needs. When working with a community, we follow these principles:

  • We listen first, seeking to understand community priorities and concerns
  • We involve community members in all stages of research and solution development
  • We share our findings transparently and in accessible formats
  • We ensure that solutions are practical, sustainable, and community-owned
  • We maintain long-term relationships, providing ongoing support as needed

Through this approach, we aim to build trust and create meaningful impact that extends beyond the duration of any single research project.
